There has been a virtual explosion of social networking web sites before few years. Even the big people like Google, Yahoo and MSN are receiving into it.

With therefore much interest in how social networks function, one begins to wonder if there is advertising potential within these social networks?

I’ve been seeing social media for a while now. In reality I’m a member of numerous social networking web sites including http://www.myspace.com/ and https://www.linkedin.com simply to name two.

I joined partly because I wished to see what they were, but moreover to see what impact social media would have on SEM in the coming years.

I’ve been a member of numerous services for some time and the reach these sites have is amazing. This dynamite linkedin.com/company/zara-realty-holding-corp URL has collected unusual suggestions for when to acknowledge this belief.

For instance, from my LinkedIn network of eight people I have an expanded network of over 12,600 people.

That is amazing – I’m just a click or two away from close to 13,000 other people who share my similar interests ranging from what I like to watch on TV to work I could provide for them.

Through their connections and my connections, I am related to people ranging from the American Cancer Society, to Sun Microsystems to the University of Texas to Google.

But what advertising possibilities exist for Social Network?

Well, let us have a look at MySpace.

MySpace is among the top sites on the internet today. I-t racked up 9.4 thousand page-views in August 2005 (significantly more than Google) and new people are signing up at-a rate of 3.5 million monthly.

MySpace is typical of where todays 18-30 year old would go to manage their electronic life. I-t allows people to post photographs of themselves and their friends, produce a weblog, record a common groups, view and share videos, suggest activities to do and lists a couple of people they consider friends. It’s with this ‘Friends List’ where a lot of the possibilities lay.

All forty million-plus customers of MySpace have a friends page that lists people that person thinks their friend. This is a list of people that they are interested in conversing with and about, along with hearing from on a regular basis. When you put someone as your friend they can send you emails, discuss your photographs, read your sites, as well as abandon messages that you can then share with others. That is the opportunity for quick feedback about you.

The capacity to include friends to your site is key for marketing to MySpace users. According to Courtney Holt, mind of new media and strategic advertising at Interscope Records, ‘This technology is growing up with out ever viewed developed media. ‘They don’t think in terms of-the record, and they don’t think in terms of a TV schedule. They think with regards to TiVo, P2P, AOL, and needless to say MySpace.

You can observe how this might grow.

Let’s say you produce a MySpace account to talk about your service or product. You blog about it and look for your interests that may be shared by others.

After this you ask them to be your friend. Browsing To apartmentguide.com/property-management/new-york/jamaica/zara-realty-holding-corp/18146 seemingly provides lessons you should give to your co-worker. When they develop into a friend you start your ‘soft market’ selling your product in their mind.

As they grow to understand it, they start blogging and discussing it. Quickly thousands or even thousand of people are talking about you and your product or service.

Don’t think this will work?

Let me give you a few examples. There are numerous artists who’ve gotten their start on MySpace. By just hosting a few of their music o-nline and blogging about themselves they created a following. Soon they’d record deals and contracts arranged. We discovered http://www.houzz.com/pro/zararealty/zara-realty by browsing Bing.

Of course to use ser-vices like MySpace you-need to get some thing this target audience needs. If you do not then you probably shouldn’t put a lot of effort into MySpace.

But that does not mean other social network opportunities should be overlooked. LinkedIn is more of a professional introduction service, as i stated earlier. If your service or product fits here then by all means investigate it further.

And you’ll find others too. Services for example Yahoo!s MyWeb, Flickr, http://del.icio.us and more.

If you have ever wondered what other online options may be on the market, consider social network. It could be the next great online marketing channel..
